Bike Shelter

Welfare

We are pleased to announce that we now have bike storage facilities at GCM.

The new bike shelter, which can store up to 20 bikes, has been installed as part of The Future is Bright project.

We want to encourage as many people as possible to cycle to GCM which will help reduce our carbon footprint.

Blood Donation

Welfare

At the turn of the year, the blood banks are usually low and poor weather can make the situation even worse. Every minute of every day, someone is receiving a blood transfusion. Just three teaspoons of blood can save the life of a premature baby. NHS Scotland and Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service were invited to relieve our congregation of a pint of juice apiece.

Poverty Relief

Welfare

One of the greatest acts of kindness is to give charity to the poor, the needy and the weak. However, in Islam, charity is also a great act of worship. We believe that it is the duty of every single Muslim to help his/her fellow human beings in their time of need, as the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

Bone Marrow Donation

Welfare

It is estimated that less than 25,000 people out of the 390,000 people on the Anthony Nolan register are from the black and mixed parentage community. This makes it increasingly difficult to locate donors for black and minority ethnic patients suffering from leukaemia and other bone marrow-related illnesses.
