Alhamdulillah, through the grace of Allah Almighty, HMC continues to help the Muslim in an essential element of their deen and the awareness and demand for HMC is increasing throughout the country. Since its inception, the Muslim community is much more aware around the issues and challenges with the halal market and have expressed a great satisfaction to have an alternative available to the 'unmonitored, uninspected, controversial criteria halal' prevalent in the market.

Dear, will you find some things out for me about Islam? There is some debate here, and possible misunderstandings, which I would like to know from a Muslim standpoint rather than simply Christians reading Christian authors who are interpreting Islam.
1) Are actions required or is it faith that saves? If a person never prayed, fasted, gave alms, etc. but humbled himself and had faith that there was no God but Allah, would he be saved? What if he did not believe that Muhammed was Allah's servant but was wholly in surrender to Allah, would he be saved?
2) What does "jihad" mean (as it was originally meant)? I have heard that it means that Islam not only condones violence against Muslims but requires it if necessary to preserve the religion, but I have also heard that it means a holy war against ourselves, our evil natures. Will you find out for me?
Just figuring out the universe. That's all.

You can ask questions of a scholar by calling the Mosque. Short answers would be:
1) Submission to Allah means accepting all of his signs, e.g. prophets and holy books. If a Muslim denies the prophethood or existence of Jesus (peace be upon him), he would no longer be submitting to the will of Allah, and would therefore no longer be a Muslim.
2) You can find an excellent article regarding jihad and its misrepresentations at the website of a local scholar; www.the-reminder.co.uk
