Imam Habibur-Rahman

Assalaamu'Alikum waRahmatullahi waBarakatuhu.

I was just a bit worried as I have not seen or heard of Imam Habib for a while. The mosque doesn't feel the same without him. Hope he is ok insha'Allah. How come he is taking such a long break? When will he be back?

please reply back quick.

kind regards.

Assalaamu alaikum

Maulana Habib ur Rahhman sends his salaam to all the 'Namazees' (brothers who attend the Masjid for Salaah) - I spoke with him whilst he was in Makkah Sharif by telephone

I agree the Masjid is not the same without him, however at the same time i am certain his extended break is one that is well earned - Us Glaswegians aren't an easy bunch to be around 24/7.

I would recommend you remember him and all our Ullama in your supplication to Allah, ask of Allah to return him safely to Glasgow, to elevate his status in this life and the hereafter. Also use the absence of Maulana Habib ur Rahman to spend some quality time with Sheikh AbdulGhafoor.

If i am given the opportunity to speak with him soon insha Allah i will pass on your thoughts.

Assalaamu alaikum

asalamualaykum, I attended Glagow mosque on the 10th of April for Jummah prayers with my husband and was very disappointed to hear the imam make a comment at the end of Jummah displaying his angst at women not controlling their children during prayers. I thought his comment was too public and he did not have any idea or tolerance for half the muslim ummah that he preaches to. I would like to know why in the muslim world muslim women are still disrespected like this and the children are seen as wholly the woman's responsibility. surely the prophet Muhammed PBUH prayed alongside his two grandsons and allowed them to play on his back whilst he was in sujjud. And surely the imam must take his example fromthe Prophet Muhammed PBUH who not only is our example in life but also the founder of our tolerant and respectful religion. Many thanks Sr Mustaqim

Assalamu alaykum

It's great news to hear that the shiekh will be coming back soon. I am a sister who regularly attends the masjid with my children. The shiekhs khutbas at jumah have been greatly missed, as has his duaas especially during the funerals.
We in Glasgow are so fortunate to have the shiekh as our imaam, may Allah prolongue his shade upon us. Aameen.

Re: the children and the noise levels. Am sorry you were offended sis, but being a regular attendee, the mothers must learn to control thier children - by saying this I do not oppose the bringing of kids to mosque, as I bring my own kids but make sure they pray with me and remailn quiet - as best as they can. Sadly though, there are those mums who pray, leave their kids to roam around thinking that the sisters area is a playground, thus disturbing all others namaz. If the kids were also present during the time of rasulullah's SAW salah, then, despite their young age and their frolicking around, the children at that time had the sense not to treat the musalah like a playground.
